Censored Newspaper Articles: Photographs attached

This post is part of a continuing series on the Censored Newspaper Articles (CNAs).

Very few of the censored newspaper articles include photographs — less than 100 out of approximately 15,000 articles.  We introduced one example in this post, in which Mrs. MacArthur’s photograph was suppressed. Below are other examples.  The full-size images of the photographs and articles are only available onsite in the Prange Collection.  To read the documents, scroll down and click on “View Full Size” on the bottom right.

Please note that though there are very few photographs with the censored newspaper articles, the Prange Collection has approximately 10,000 News Agency Photographs that were submitted to the Civil Censorship Detachment by Jiji Tsushin, Kyodo Tsushin and Sun News Agencies.
