On this day in 1947…(June 13)

As promised in an earlier post, over the next several months we will be sharing documents from the Censored Newspaper Articles (CNAs) as they are scanned.   The Civil Censorship Detachment (CCD) documents below are in the typical format for local news articles.  The examiner (or censor), who was Japanese or Japanese American, was required to translate any objectionable portions of the newspaper article into English, so that their supervisor, who was an American, could review and make a final determination about censorship action.  The examiners names are listed at the bottom of the documents.
